The Museum of Ordinary People by Mike Gayle

Mike Gayle is a fab writer.  He turns what could have been a sad but ordinary story into something heart-warming and encouraging.

Jess is clearing out her mother's house and finds there are things that she can't let go of but has nowhere in her (useless) boyfriend's flat for them.  By chance she finds out about a quirky museum that keeps things that ordinary people have thrown out or given away.

Alex owns this museum – he inherited it from someone he didn't even know.  The back story to that is quite fascinating.

Do give this one a go – you won't regret it.

I have read and posted about All The Lonely People .
