Foodie Friday – Storing Ginger

Thanks to a neat little Cook's Illustrated Book, Kitchen Hacks, I can share with you a hack for storing ginger in 2 ways.

Peel and cut your ginger up into 1 inch pieces – pop it into a jar and cover with sherry.  You can store this for several months in the fridge – and you can use the sherry in Asian dishes.

The other way is to cut unpeeled ginger up into pieces and then freeze it in bags – take what you need out when you need it.  You can let it thaw or even grate it frozen.
