The
Bomb was not selected by the Book Council but is a recent
book that was getting rave reviews and awards so I checked it out.
It's a very Kiwi story about a young Maori boy who
wants to do an epic bomb (ie dropping into water from a height). He gets lots
of advice but in the end realises he has to do it his way.
Fun illustrations – and even a good (but not at all
preachy) message.
