Books You Loved: August Edition provided reviews of lots of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few that caught my eye:
Tina of Turn The Page brought over Stolen by Tess Stimson. Her post said 'This story has an explosive beginning and a surprise ending. If you plan to read this book be prepared to ignore everything else as you'll have trouble putting it down.
Alexa Martini faces the worst nightmare of any parent. Her 3 year old daughter Charlotte is abducted during a wedding celebration in St Petersburg Florida.'
The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin was reviewed by Book Reviews by Linda Moore. Her post said 'This is Marianne Cronin's debut novel and it's a good one. ..It was well written and very emotional. There were a few chuckles thrown in for good measure but overall it's very sad. …And you won't want to put this book down. You'll grab a box of two of kleenex and hang on for the ride.'
Bookalicious Babe Book Reviews brought over My Lemon Grove Summer by Jo Thomas. Her post said 'This was a fun, quick read that took me away to Italy. Lemons abound in this novel, and I couldn't help but smell them the whole time I was reading this novel. There are even recipes in the back of the book for lemon-flavored treats.'
Lastly, Elizabeth of Silver's Reviews posted about The Forest of Vanishing Stars by
Kristin Harmel. She said 'This book is a
beautiful tribute to the human spirit, to perseverance, and to finding the
qualities a person possesses for empathy, kindness, and making choices.
Another FIVE star but very heartbreaking gem from Kristin Harmel. 5/5'
Now on to September. There are no rules for this party. The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

ReplyDeleteThis month's book was one of the most interesting reads of the year, a book that explains so much about American politics and politics in general. We all should hope that our governments want the best for us and that we get out of this mess.
