Diary of a Wombat by Jackie French

 

Diary of a Wombat (2002) is a quirky book that should have been boring but wasn't.  As you might have guessed the author and illustrator (Bruce Whatley) are Australian.

 

This wombat in amongst her normal sleeping, scratching eating routine finds time to train her humans. Which is a slow process because they are slow learners!

You'll enjoy getting to know this wombat!  I kept thinking of 'our' cat, Molly, and what her diary would be like!  Snooze, sleep, meow for food, catch poor little birdie, bring it inside…. Enough!
