The
Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time deserves its place
on the UK BookTrust's list of books for 12-14 year olds. I thought it was suitable for adults as well.
I would never have read this based on the title – but
I'm so glad I did. It is an incredibly
well written story about events in the life of a teenager who is on the
spectrum. It is told from his
perspective – and I must say it helps you understand how these people are wired
differently.
Christopher has a severe condition and attends a
special school. But he is very bright
and very good at maths. But new things
overwhelm him. And his family struggles
to deal with him.
I read it. I found it very good but very sad.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree that it is not just for young people, we all can learn so much from it. Great book.
