Origin of name – a riding is just an old word for a district – and has nothing to do with horses.

Famous places to visit – Beverly's Minster, chalk cliffs at Flamborough Head, Flamborough Lighthouse, Stamford Bridge, Hull (Kingston on Hull), Sewerby Hall, Driffield Navigation Canal, Humber Bridge

Famous people from East Riding – William Wilberforce (couldn't find any others)
