This is the next instalment of a monthly feature going
through the Counties of the UK in alphabetical order to check out things of
interest. I hope you enjoy it
The City of London is an unusual county. It comprises only the central historical bit
of London and is tiny compared to the whole metropolis of London. The City is about a square mile in area. Less than 10000 people live there but about
300,000 come to the City every day to work.
The Great Fire of London in 1666 destroyed about 80% of
the City.
