The Little Breton Bistro by Nina George

It wasn't until the end of The Little Breton Bistro that I decided to post about it.  If you liked The Little Paris Bookshop, you'll definitely like this one.

The main protagonist of the book is a German woman Marianne.  I'm not sure that it was relevant that she was not French. Having said that, the author is German and the book is a translation.

She feels trapped in a bad marriage and decides to take drastic action.  I won't spoil it for you but she does end up in a little village in Brittany.  There is quite a bit of food in the book.

I didn't particularly like the almost druidic elements in the book but the rest was very good.  And the cover is just superb – other than the little Eiffel Towers which seemed a bit pointless.

This book can also be found with the title The Little French Bistro.

  1. Thanks for the review. I couldn't get The Paris book and was very disappointed. I like books with the French setting.
