It took me
about a third of My Berlin Kitchen by
Luisa Weiss
to really
get into it – but I am glad I persevered.
Luisa Weiss is a food/life blogger who also worked in publishing. This is a memoir of her early life with food
and about how she ended up moving from New York to Berlin (where she was born
to an American father and Italian mother) to be with the love of her life.
There are
recipes at the end of most of the chapters.
And her recipe for potato salad has changed the way I'll do them from
now on quite markedly. I posted about it
here
The book
would be even more enjoyable if some photographs of the places and food had
been included. The author mentions
taking lots of photos and is a food blogger so it just seemed odd that you
didn't see any images of it all other than through words. Maybe she could do a special edition??
I have this book on my shelf to read - thanks for your review! Have you checked her blog for photos?
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to have this book. Love the recipes too.
