One
of my best childhood memories is cycling with my "auntie" near Bude in Cornwall. In those days we didn't wear helmets
though! The countryside was so pretty
and my memory says that the weather was fantastic. It is funny but I don't really remember much
bad weather as a child – no doubt your memory banks edit it out as
uninteresting.
This
little map will give you a general idea of where Bude is. It isn't a big place which is part of its
charm.
Tourism
and fishing are now the town's main activities but in the past it was a major
exporter of sand.
There
are good beaches in and close to Bude and a lot of surfing too.
Beautiful Place for boating and biking!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I don't have many memories of bad weather, but I can remember vacations where I had to wear a jacket or coat!
ReplyDeleteI spent many holidays in Cornwall. Cornish pasties, cream teas and fantastic places like Heligan with its wonderful gardens. Great nostalgia, Carole!
ReplyDeleteI don't really think of England and surfing in the same sentence. Cool!
