Solution – traipse

It was a bit tricky to know what the solution should mean since both "inebriated" and "travel about" could have been the indicator that an anagram was involved.  It is clear though that the letters in "pirates" need to be scrambled to come up with something that means either "inebriated" or "travel about".  As you can see the solution was "traipse" which matches "travel about".
