I
have always enjoyed Dawn French's
work. Larger than life and very
appealingly humanly flawed. A Tiny Bit Marvellous is her first novel.
This is the Amazon blurb for the book:
Everyone
hates the perfect family.
So you'll love the
Battles.
Mo is about to hit the
big 50, and some uncomfortable truths are becoming quite apparent:
She doesn't understand
either of her teenage kids, which as a child psychologist, is fairly
embarrassing.
She has become entirely
grey. Inside, and out.
I
enjoyed this book. It was easy to read
and laugh out loud funny. The reviews on
Amazon are quite mixed though. You do
need to enjoy British humour.

If Dawn French wrote it then it has to be good!
ReplyDeleteI adore British humor and will put this on my list of reads.
ReplyDeleteI loved Dawn French in the Vicar of Dibley. So I would think that this book will be excellent and full of great humour. She's always had that English gift of self deprecation which I think is a great quality to be gifted with. I write humour myself and wish I had similar success. What genre do you write Carole?
ReplyDeleteShe is so amazingly talented, I'm sure I'd enjoy this book. I definitely have the British sense of humour.
