Dawn French – A Tiny Bit Marvellous

I have always enjoyed Dawn French's work.  Larger than life and very appealingly humanly flawed.  A Tiny Bit Marvellous is her first novel. This is the Amazon blurb for the book:

Everyone hates the perfect family.
So you'll love the Battles.
Mo is about to hit the big 50, and some uncomfortable truths are becoming quite apparent:
She doesn't understand either of her teenage kids, which as a child psychologist, is fairly embarrassing.
She has become entirely grey. Inside, and out.

I enjoyed this book.  It was easy to read and laugh out loud funny.  The reviews on Amazon are quite mixed though.  You do need to enjoy British humour.

  3. I loved Dawn French in the Vicar of Dibley. So I would think that this book will be excellent and full of great humour. She's always had that English gift of self deprecation which I think is a great quality to be gifted with. I write humour myself and wish I had similar success. What genre do you write Carole?
