This is an unusual flag design. It is a stylized depiction of the island of St Lucia. The blue stands for fidelity as well as for the sea, gold stands for prosperity and sunshine and the black and white were to represent harmony between races. It was the winning entry in a design competition. St Lucia is part of the West Indies
