This
book, The Universal Heart by Stephanie Dowrick, changed my life – how often are you really able to say that? But this one really did.
The
Amazon blurb says this:
In this text, Stephanie Dowrick explores not just our intimate
relationships, but also the other key relationships of our life - with family,
friends, children, ex-partners, colleagues and people in our everyday world.
She invites us to discover the power we have to create relationships built on a
rich, generous and inclusive idea of love.
Now
that all sounds pretty loosey, goosey I know but actually there were some
concepts in it that were really helpful in practice. Of course, I still have major challenges in
this area, like most people, but I know that I am better for having read the
book.
She
is a psychotherapist who has written a number of books including Intimacy and
Solitude, Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love.
They are well written and not jargon laden.
Stephanie
was born in New Zealand but lives in Australia.

I love the book cover.
