Today's solution is got to by scrambling the letters of "pencil" up and adding "a" in the mix.  Why add "a"?  Well it says "article written in" which refers to an article in grammatical terms ie the or a.  How do you know that you have to scramble the letters?  The clue is "unwisely".


So if you do your scrambling you can come up with Pelican which, of course, is a sort of bird.
