Sister Wendy – nun and wonderful art historian and tv presenter

I happened across Sister Wendy's tv programme some years ago completely by accident and was just entranced by the way this little nun spoke so clearly, plainly (even about nudity etc) and informatively. The programme was called Sister Wendy's Story of Painting. She did quite a number of different programmes. They all come highly recommended.

But it was her books that completely hooked me.  I have the Story of Painting and Sister Wendy's 1000 Masterpieces.  They are gloriously illustrated and you can clearly hear her unique voice speaking to you when you read them.

If you have ever wanted to learn a bit more about art in an accessible way, this would be a good place to start.
