Rob Muldoon died on 5 August
1992. He was the Prime Minister of New
Zealand from 1975 to 1984 – a long time.
He
was a formidable politician who tended to polarise views. Large sections of ordinary New Zealand just
loved him to bits and were known as Rob's Mob.
His critics called him "Piggy" Muldoon. He was a favourite of cartoonists and you can
see why.
