Solution
– engrossed
The
split in the clue is at the comma (unusual).
If you are "completely absorbed" in something you can be said
to be "engrossed" by it.
And
if you check the dictionary, you see that "engrossed" is also a legal
term (now very old fashioned) for making a fair copy of a legal document –
hence, "wrote in legal form".
This
is an example of a double definition clue.
