Marti Friedlander is a fantastic New
Zealand photographer. She emigrated to
New Zealand from England in 1958 (having married a Kiwi) and as part of
understanding her new country she began to document it. She is famous for her many photos of Maori
women – particularly ones with moko – the tattoo on the chin area.
