Books
You Loved: April continued to provide reviews of great
books. Thank you to everybody. Here are a few reviews that caught my eye:
We'll start with a review of that fantastic read Eleanor
Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. Dorothy from The Nature of Things said 'What a joy this book was to read! Eleanor Oliphant is a
wonderful character. She is quirky and layered without feeling cheesy and
made-up. She is so sad when we first meet her but so smart and blunt-spoken and
often so unintentionally funny.'
Elizabeth
from Silver's Reviews posted about The
Library of Lost and Found by
Phaedra Patrick. She said 'another heartwarming GEM by Phaedra
Patrick with lovable characters you would want to have in your life and is a
book you won't want to end. '
The
Binding by Bridget Collins was brought over by
Tracey of Carpe Librum. She said 'The Binding is a combination of fantasy and historical fiction
or historical fiction meets urban fantasy. It doesn't clearly straddle either
genre and I loved that it contained hints of folklore and myth whilst remaining
rooted in reality.
And that cover, wow! I have to comment on the overall presentation, because it's an absolute masterpiece. The Binding is a stunning book to hold in your hands.'

On a lighter note, Jackie's Book World posted about The
Roommate Agreement by Emma Hart.
Jackie said 'I
absolutely loved reading this book, it was hilarious and romantic. Emma Hart
delivers characters that are swoon worthy and quirky'
Now on to the May
edition. There are no rules for this
party. The only requirement is that your
post is about a book that you loved.
To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and
your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and
paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky now also
makes you tick a box.
I'll be pinning your links to this
Pinboard to
make it easier for you to check them out at a glance. It also has links from previous Aprils…
As always, thanks, Carole!

ReplyDeleteThe wrong End of The Table by A user Salman
ReplyDeleteThanks for including The Binding by Bridget Collins in your wrap-up Carole, I really hope more readers discover and fall in love with this one.
ReplyDeleteFor May I'm linking to the only 5 star review this past month and that's for Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. YA fantasy isn’t what I usually read but I absolutely adored this book and haven’t been this impressed by an author’s world building in a novel since discovering Harry Potter for the first time.
Posted. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCarole, this month I have linked in historical fiction The Tudor Crown by Joanna Hickson and my comforting re-read of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.
ReplyDeleteI brought you the latest I finished, an Erin Kelly novel.
ReplyDeleteI had to add Joe Biden's book, "Promise Me, Dad". What a story. It is so interesting to see the views of the former US Vice President and learn about his family.
