Ian Athfield was a one of a kind architect. Unfortunately we lost him in 2015.
I lived next to one of his houses for a few years and got to go inside – so very different.
His own house in Wellington was quite something.
Every country needs architects who are prepared to take risks.
He was awarded a well deserved knighthood.
