A Caravan Like a Canary by Sasha Wasley

This book resonated with me on many levels.  In no particular order

·         An Australian author who writes authentically about the country without clichés

·         An older sibling who has felt lifelong responsibility for a younger nonchalant risk taker brother.

·         A dysfunctional family originally.

·         A mother who let down her children on many levels but who is dying and wants to make amends

·         An old caravan (yes, painted bright yellow) that was used by the family years before and that is now being taken back to the mother – a long road trip.

Read it and be entertained, saddened, intrigued and find out what happens.
