I walked out, you left me
You know I'm hurtin' for you
It seems now that it's over
But there is nothin' I can do
I don't know
Why does love do this to me?
I don't know
I don't know
Jackie came, she went away
Deep in the valley I kissed her that day but
It seems I'm thinkin' of you
But I'm still thinkin' about myself
I don't know
Why does love do this to me?
I don't know
Why does love do this to me?
I don't know
I don't know
The Exponents are a New Zealand band. Jordan Luck wrote the song in 1989 in a London squat in the time that it took to toast a piece of bread. It has become an enduring classic. Partly thanks to being used as a theme tune for rugby matches (including the Wellington Sevens).
