John Parker and his Sister Theresa by Reynolds (1723-1792)

Unlike the 'typical' artist, Reynolds was successful and not short of money in his lifetime.  His portraits, particularly of children, were very popular.  Not only were they accomplished he knew how to market himself.

He was even knighted in 1769 by King George III.

This painting of 2 young siblings is quite representative of his work.  He often painted just the people and left his team of assistants to fill in the background.  The little boy later became the Earl of Morley.
