Books You Loved: January Edition!

Books You Loved: December Edition again provided reviews of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few that caught my eye:

The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier was brought over by The Captivated Reader.  The post said 'The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier is so engaging and well paced! I loved the writing, the storyline, and the characters for this novel. …

The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier is a multilayered novel. This historical fiction novel is set in the 1850s in Ohio. Honor Bright leaves England on a voyage with her sister, Grace, to the United States as Grace is to be married to her English fiance, Adam, who has moved to the United States. ..Then Honor's sister, Grace, dies from yellow fever as the two sisters make their way to Ohio by land to meet up with Adam in Ohio. This leaves Honor adrift on her own in a foreign country by herself to make the rest of her way to Adam'

Elizabeth from Silver's Reviews posted about The Secret of Snow by Viola Shipman.  Her review said ' Sonny is fired from the meteorologist job she has had forever, replaced by a robot, and has to return home...… she has to move in with her mother and live in her old bedroom with all her high school and childhood memories…

THE SECRET OF SNOW is a fun read. ..
Viola Shipman always knows how to cheer you up and keep you on the side of positive'

Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult was reviewed on Chick Lit Central.  Melissa said 'Overall, it was a really compelling and well-told story that I had a hard time putting down to get back to real life. '

Last but not least, The Stranger in the Lifeboat by Mitch Albom was reviewed by Melissa on Goodreads.  She said 'Overall, I definitely recommend this novel. Mitch Albom's storytelling prowess impresses me each time I read one of his novels.'

Now on to the first Books You Loved for the year - January. There are no rules for this party.  The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky also makes you tick a box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.

Take care and stay safe. Happy New Year!

  7. Happy new years, Carole. I linked two books but now I can't remember if I did that in December! Hope they aren't repeats.

  8. Happy New Year!

I know not everyone is a fan of "A Gentleman in Moscow" but I really loved it. It's not just a great story which vivid characters and an unusual plot, it is a mystery and history, a love story and a political report, a story of friendship and kindness, a fairy tale and a psychological essay.
