The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles

This book was a good read.  But why is every second book nowadays using dual timelines?  I would have been very happy to read the main story without the more modern timeline (1983 Montana).

The library in question is the American Library in Paris which continued to operate during the occupation of Paris by the Germans.

If you like reading and libraries you'll relate to this book.  The heroine deals with the challenges of her father being senior in the police, her policeman boyfriend and her natural wishes to continue to support the library's Jewish patrons.

This does not end all hearts and flowers but she is still alive in 1983.

  1. It really has been a thing lately with these type of books. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.

  2. I loved this book! But I do know what you mean. There does seem to be a lot of books that time jump. At least this one did a good job of it.
