The story line in Hatchet is a little hokey. A teenage boy is in a small plane crash when the pilot has a heart attack. He comes down in remote Canada.
How does he survive? But within this storyline, the writing is spare and beautiful. You get to know how Brian thinks and develops.
He is on his own for more than 50 days!
This is the first in a series of books with Brian as the hero. I think I'll try the next one.
