St George is now thought to have been a legend rather than real. But he is loved all the same. His feast day is 23 April. He is the Patron of England, Istanbul, boy scouts, soldiers amongst others.
His emblems are a red cross on a white background and, of course, a dragon.
St George saved a princess from a dragon – and in return approximately 15000 people were baptized.
