Today we go back to 1984.  This was a hugely successful power ballad.  It reached no 1 in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Canada, Norway, Australia and Sweden.  That takes some doing.

 

The song was written by the group's guitarist – Mick Jones. 

 

Some vocals were done by the New Jersey Mass Choir – a Gospel Choir – the first gospel choir to feature on a no 1 hit.
