Counties of the UK: Merseyside

County seat – Liverpool

Unusual village name - Greasby

Flower – Sea-holly

Signature food – Scouse

Famous places to visit  - John Lennon airport (Liverpool), Wirral Way, Mersey Ferry, The Cavern Club, Liverpool Cathedral, Birkenhead Priory

Famous people from Merseyside – Jean Alexander (Hilda Ogden), Beryl Bainbridge (author), Cilla Black, Brian Epstein (manager of the Beatles), George Harrison, Frank Hornby (model trains), John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Richard Quest (CNN), Kate Sheppard (suffragette), Ringo Starr, George Stubbs (painter of horses)
