Bone Canyon is the second book featuring Eve Ronin. The first one, Lost Hills impressed me. I posted about it here.
After fires in the Santa Monica mountains some bones are found. Who are they and how were they killed? This is an interesting twisty police procedural. The heroine is gutsy and imperfect – so more believable for it.
She ends up being pitted against her police department's blue wall – the tradition of having each other's back whatever the circumstances.
There is one twist that collapsed my suspension of disbelief but overall a good read.
