Punakaiki

Punakaiki is famous for its pancake rocks and blowholes. High tide is the best time to visit.  The blowholes will be even better if there is a Westerly wind.

Punakaiki is on the West Coast of the South Island – just above Greymouth. The name in Te Reo means 'a spring of food' in English.

There is also quite a lot of wildlife to see including fur seals, dolphins, blue penguin, blue shag and many other marine birds.
