Paul Signac was born in Paris in 1863 and died there in 1935.
The pic at the top is of his painting Women at the Well – done in 1892 (at the age of 29). It is set in Provence and uses pointillism as a technique. The painting feels quite modern to me.
This shows his painting The Red Buoy (which we say boy and you might say bu+ey) I think the technique suits the depiction of water well.
