Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown

Flat Stanley is targeted at 6-8 year olds.  It’s a fun imaginative book.  Stanley is squashed flat by a bookcase falling on him.  So he gets around flat – and finds the world is different when you are only an inch thick.

For instance he gets posted to California for a holiday.

But all's well that ends well – you'll have to read the book to see what happens.

The book became the first in a series.

  1. Once upon a time you could find a video on Youtube of Richard Armitage reading a Flat Stanley book. I listened to that just before bed time more than once!

  2. I had a flat Stanley sent to me by a friends son, he lives in Indiana and I'm in Florida. It w as s fun for both of us. I had photos taken of Flat Stanley at a wedding in Georgia, at a small town near the coast of Apalachicola , I took him to work and he toured the law enforcement crime lab, crime scene van, my office and more. It was a blast.

I was able to send Stanley back with a book of photos and a Jr Special Agent badge as well as DARE hat and books.

I'd encourage anyone tasked with Stanley to give the child a great experience!

  3. I remember my son reading this when we had just moved from England to the Netherlands and he sent Flat Stanley to one of his old friends, was lovely to see how he got around.
