Books You Loved: June Edition

It's June already – how is that possible!...

Books You Loved: May  continued to provide reviews of great books. Thank you to all. Here are a few that caught my eye:

Redhead by the Side of the Road by Anne Tyler was contributed by Dorothy of The Nature of Things. Her review said 'Anne Tyler is a wonderful creator of characters and many of her best characters are men. I would rate Micah right up there with some of her most memorable like the brothers in Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant or Macon Leary in The Accidental Tourist. He is an oddball and a bit of a fussbudget who lives a rigid life that is about to be disrupted and thrown completely out of balance by circumstances.'

The Secrets of Love Story Bridge by Phaedra Patrick was brought over by Elizabeth of Silver's Reviews.  Her post said 'Ms. Patrick has written another heartwarming book with characters you will fall in love with and a story line that will keep you turning the pages. .. A truly enjoyable read. 5/5'

Miss Austen by Gill Hornby was brought over by My Jane Austen Book Club.  The review said 'You can’t miss it, it’s an absolute must for any Janeite.  It’s also a delightful, clever, entertaining read, perfect for finding some solace and escape in these troubling times. You’ll find comfort and joy entering the daily life of the two young Austen sisters and their family. You’ll feel the bittersweet melancholy of Cassandra doing her best to preserve her beloved sister’s reputation, while making a balance of her own choices and her own life.'

Finally, Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner was reviewed by Melissa of Chick Lit Central.  She said 'This was a great story about a complicated friendship and whether or not people can change from who they used to be. ..I enjoyed it thoroughly .... It's the perfect summer read and a great escape from our current reality.'

Now on to the June edition.  There are no rules for this party.  The only requirement is that your post is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box. Mr Linky now also makes you tick a box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.  It also has links from previous Junes…
