Come Away With Me by Norah Jones

Come away with me in the night
Come away with me
And I will write you a song

Come away with me on a bus
Come away where they can't tempt us, with their lies
And I want to walk with you

On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high
So won't you try to come

Come away with me and we'll kiss
On a mountaintop
Come away with me
And I'll never stop loving you

Come Away With Me was the debut studio album by Norah Jones.  It was released in 2002 – which makes it more recent that most music I chatter on about.

13 instrumentalists plus Jones did this album.  So it was quite an undertaking and also a huge commercial success.

Jones is the daughter of Ravi Shankar – talent obviously runs in the family.

She lived in Grapevine, Texas from about the age of 7 before going to a Performing Arts School in Dallas.

She moved to NY City and the rest, as they say, was history.

She married a musician (but kept his name secret!) and they now have 2 children. A bit of research suggested he might be Pete Remm – but who knows!

  1. This is an artist that's nice and mellow to listen to in the evening. I don't know her father was Ravi until a few years ago....surprised for some reason.
