Weird music - Green Onions

I think I was aware of the instrumental track Green Onions at the time – 1962 – but I can't be sure.  The artist was Booker T and the M.G's.  When it was recorded it was largely improvised when the band was waiting to record with another artist who was late.  A happy accident. 

The name of the track was originally going to be funky onions but they 'cleaned' it up to be green onions.

The band was a respected house band and did the backing for many famous artists.
