The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook by Kate Macdonald

This delightful little book made me so happy.  Every turn of a page revealed another delight.  There are so many reasons to love this:

·         The author is a granddaughter of LM Montgomery
·         She is also an expert on food and nutrition – so the recipes look really good
·         But the best bits are the graphics – absolutely delightful drawings of flowers etc – and great photos of the food.
·         Some of the recipes also have whimsical names like – Gilbert's Hurry Up Dinner, Poetical Egg Salad Sandwiches and Cowcumber Boats

Gilbert's Hurry Up Dinner

The book is theoretically targeted at children who are beginning to be interested in cooking – but don't let that put you off.

  3. I'm so excited that you did a review of this book because I've been considering buying it, but I wasn't sure if it would be good or not.
Is there a recipe for Raspberry Cordial in the book? I've always wanted to make that.

  4. I have a Little House cookbook based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's series, and it's been fun to explore. I'm sure this is the same kind of wonderful!
