Books You Loved: December
had some super books – as always. Some
reviews that caught my eye were:
Elizabeth from Silver's
Reviews brought us Millard Salter's Last Day by Jacob M
Appel. Her post said 'We walk with Millard on his last day as he visits patients and his
family members and thinks about this being his last day. …
MILLARD SALTER'S LAST DAY isn't morose or morbid. In fact, Millard makes you laugh out loud with his last day antics and his last day..'
Artemis was brought over by
Jo Ann of Journey of a Bookseller. I agree with her that 'this writer's words resonate with me. He talks about impossible
things (at least so far) and he makes it very believable. His stories are
full of suspense and huge challenges for the characters. No matter how
many pages there are in the story, you won't skip a thing and you'll be
unwilling to put it down and do something else. His stories are
mesmerizing.'
Words and Peace let us know about One Sip at a Time by Keith Van Sickle. She said 'Hilarious vignettes on adjusting to French living. Neat way of discovering real France!'
Washington's Lady was reviewed by Stray Thoughts. The review said 'This was a fascinating and enjoyable
book.' This one is a
fictionalised bio of Martha Washington.
Lastly, an illustrated book – Journey by DK Publishing
Staff. Debbie, of Different Time Different Place said 'Journey is an illustrated book reviewing the history of travel. …to
learn about famous explorers, well-known journeys, and accounts of various
travels. …
There were pictures of things like reconstructed ancient boats, various models of cars or airplanes, travel posters, famous explorers, historical maps and maps of the route taken by the explorers, paintings of various events, … Overall, I greatly enjoyed this interesting and informative book and would recommend it.'

Now on to the January
collection. Remember the posts you link
in don't have to be recent and the book concerned doesn't have to have been
recently published or read. The only
requirement is that it is about a book that you loved.
To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and
your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and
paste the url of your post about it into the second box.
I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier
for you to check them out at a glance.
This is a fun read. It makes you laugh!
