Now this pasta dish is so simple that I'm almost
embarrassed to tell you about it. I got
the idea from Nigella.
To make Marmite Pasta you just cook your
favourite pasta – I used fettucine nests – in well salted water.
When the pasta is almost ready put 3 tablespoons of
butter and 1 teaspoon of marmite* (which is a yeast extract) plus a splash of
the pasta cooking water into a little saucepan and heat it up to make your
pasta sauce.
Serve your marmite pasta with
some grated parmesan on top. And that's it. It had a lovely but not
overpowering flavour.
