Books You Loved: April had
some very interesting books – as always.
Some reviews that caught my eye were:
The Pretty Delicious Café was reviewed by
Michelle of Jarrah Jungle. She said 'I
recommend this book to take on your next holiday as an easy to read
contemporary women's fiction.'
The Candidate by Lis Wiehl was
brought over by Create with Joy. The review said 'Lis
creates an interesting and suspenseful story while developing characters that
cause strong emotional connections and responses.'
I have now read this myself and found it unexpectedly enjoyable (given
it's outside my normal genres)
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
was reviewed by Peggy's Porch. Peggy said 'A story about moral
failure, the dangers of crowd mentality, and coming of
age, but mostly about the fragility of human nature. Set in Sweden,
the incredible imagery puts you there in this small Swedish town
in love with hockey. I loved it!'
Melissa of Chick
Lit Central reviewed The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katerina Bivald. Her review said ' The Readers of
Broken Wheel Recommend was truly a delightful story and perfect for that
book lover in your life (or yourself, if this refers to you).'
Now on to the May
collection. Remember the posts you link
in don't have to be recent and the book concerned doesn't have to have been
recently published or read. The only
requirement is that it is about a book that you loved.
To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and
your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and
paste the url of your post about it into the second box.
I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier
for you to check them out at a glance.
My post is concluding book in a trilogy that was out of this world!
ReplyDeleteEntered all mine. Thanks for the shout-out!
ReplyDeleteAnother great-looking list of books.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Today is the last day for a giveaway on my blog for Flight Patterns. It is in the post with the review of THE NIGHT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT.

You remind me, I have "The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend" and aim to read it soon. My current post is on novels featuring senior citizens.
ReplyDeleteThe Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend was such a sweet read...LOVED it.
DeleteMy husband and I both loved THE KOMMADANT'S GIRL. It would make a good book club read.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely loved that book too.
DeleteThanks Carole.
ReplyDeleteI'm adding a sad book, but I couldn't put Light Between the Ocean down.
ReplyDeleteThank you for featuring my book review :) This month I've linked up one for dog lovers and memoir fans
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I am yet to give a book a 5 star rating this year. Wow, I hope it picks up soon. I did link a great 4 star read though.
ReplyDeleteOnce again I've given you links to three terrific books that I read in April. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteSusie Finkbeiner's incomparable voice makes Trail of Crumbs a winner.
ReplyDeleteI have linked in my favourite read from April: Seven Stages by Geoffrey Trease, a history of seven influential figures from the stage.
ReplyDeleteI really should have linked four books, I had a fantastic reading month. But you can find the others on my page:
ReplyDeleteHislop, Victoria "Cartes Postales from Greece"
Falcones, Ildefonso "The Barefoot Queen"
Hansen, Dörte "This House is Mine"
Marianne from
Let's Read
Thanks for the reminder Carole. I'll be back, to add some and to see what everyone else is reading.
ReplyDeleteI evidently did something wrong. You can delete entry #51. Oops.
DeleteI just got back my access to the Internet, so I will stop by later on this month with my link!
ReplyDeleteUgh! I'm so way behind with my favorite books of the month! I chose this one back in May, but only just got a chance to leave my links. (This was a reread for me from almost seven years ago) See you next month, Carole! :)
