Food on Friday : Pork

ON

This week's edition of Food on Friday is all about PORK.  The last time we did this theme was over 4 year's ago!

According to the great Stephanie Alexander, pork goes well with:

Apples
Celery
Cherries
Chillies
Fennel
Garlic
Ginger
Lentils
Maple syrup
Mushrooms
Mustard
Olive oil
Onions
Pears
Pickled cucumbers
Potatoes
Prunes
Red cabbage
Rosemary
Sage
Salad leaves
Sauerkraut
Sour cream
Soy sauce
Spring onions (scallions)
Star anise
Thyme
Tomatoes
Turnips
Watercress

So as per usual, please put your links to posts about pork into the Mr Linky boxes below.  It would be great if you checked out some of the other links after you have linked in.

I will be pinning your contributions to this Pinboard.

Just a reminder that previous Food on Friday's are still open for new contributions or as a source of inspiration if you are trying to figure out what to do for a meal or with a particular ingredient.  You will find a list of them all in my top tab as well as a list of recent ones in my sidebar.

Have a lovely "porky" week

  1. Hi, Carole and all,

As well as stuffing manicotti with sausage meat ( # 6), Ma also used ground pork or beef. The post also has links for other manicotti filling recipes.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!

  5. I love pork and we eat it regularly though I see only two recipes on my blog. There's my slow cooked BBQ pork ribs (most popular recipe of the blog) but I have suggested a Cider Braised Romertopf Pork casserole. For those who do not have a clay baker, you could cook this in a covered casserole dish.

  13. Here I come, bringing up the rear, with a selection of porky favourites from my Rhubarb & Ginger blog! If you only try one of them - make sure it's the Sicilian pork ragu with chocolate, which is AWESOME! lol
