I don't
normally read translated works. But I
highly recommend this one. If you didn't
know that The Readers of Broken Wheel
Recommend was written by a Swedish author – you would never have guessed
it. The book is set in rural America and
as far as I could tell didn't have a Swedish flavour at all.
It's a
charming story about a woman who is a penpal with an old lady and is invited to
visit. She arrives only to find that her
friend has just passed away. She ends up
staying and finding friendship from the small community. I won't say anymore about the story because
that would spoil it for you.
The main
protagonist is a book lover too – and there's a bookstore – do I need to say
more? Give it a go
Sounds like a perfect cozy read.
