Food on Friday: Victorian or Afternoon Tea Party

 ON

The theme – Victorian or Afternoon Tea Party was suggested by Sid's Sea Palm Cooking.

Sid has been a fabulous supporter of Food on Friday – she does a heap of interesting cooking including dishes from her Danish heritage like Mazarin Tarts- go check them out.

So the idea for this Food on Friday is to have an old style afternoon tea party – whatever that means to you!  No idea will be rejected!

To add your dishes, just put the name of the dish together with your blog name/name into the first Mr Linky box you will find below.  Then paste the url for your post about it into the second box.

I'll be pinning the dishes to this Pinboard which will make it easy for you to check them out at a glance.

Now it's time for tea!  And thanks, Sid, for the idea.

  1. Hi Carole! I've dropped off my Pumpkin and Walnut Biscotti. Just the thing with a cup of tea. :)

  3. Hi, Carole and all!

Welsh Cakes ( # 13 ) are great served warm with butter.

The post also has the meaning of the Welsh village’s name,
    Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

  5. What a lovely idea! I love your Cucumber Sandwich post - we always read about those in novels, but I've never had one and wouldn't have known quite how to go about making one! I'm sharing my 10 cookie assortment from 1 mix post this week - cookies are always good with Tea, right? : )

  7. Not very Victorian, but I've brought a wide variety of biscuits from countries all over the world to the Afternoon Tea Party. Plus some lovely sweet breads and buns. Too bad I already shared my lemon curd cake sandwiches at last week's cake theme - they're ideal for afternoon tea :)

  17. Carole,
I've started off with a radish sandwich spread, because when I've had high tea it hasn't been all sweets. But it was mostly sweets, so I've linked up 3 more cookies that are terrific with (and one made from) tea.
Then I got to thinking--when it's hot out, I find hot tea too much. I prefer iced chai tea lattes (actually, I am drinking them year round) so I've linked up that recipe as well.
    Thanks for hosting!
