Books You Loved: September Edition

It's the first Wednesday in the month again.  So, it's Books You Loved time.

Books You Loved: August was another great collection.  Some reviews that caught my eye were:

Circling the Sun by Paula McLain – review by Carmen's Books and Movies.  Carmen says 'Circling the Sun is biographical fiction, but it certainly has the feel of a memoir. … Paula McLain did a remarkable job drawing out the characters—all the British expatriates who lived in Kenya at the time—as well as the place. The Kenya of the 1920s shone under McLain pen, so much so, that it could be considered one more character in the story:'

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert – review by Captivated Reader.   She said 'Everything Elizabeth Gilbert wrote about in Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear was succinct, timely, creative and purely magical as far as writing and creative ideas/thinking is concerned... I am inspired and empowered by what I read in Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear '

Eleanor and the Iron King by Julie Daines – review by I love to Read and Review Books.  Shauna said 'Such GREAT WRITING!
LOVED. LOVED. LOVED. IT!'

Stoner by John Williams – review by Carpe Librum.  Tracey said 'Stoner by John Williams is possibly my favourite book of 2015. It's the story of William Stoner, who is born into a poor farming family with little means…. This is a deeply honest portrait of an average man, living an average and sometimes depressing life, but it's told with such care and beauty that I really was swept away.'

Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins – review by Books I Think You Should Read.  The review said ' This novel was fantastic… This book definitely made me think about life and the choices we make.'

Now for the September collection.  Remember the post doesn't have to be a recent one and the book doesn't have to have been recently published or read.  The only requirement is that it is about a book that you loved.

To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and paste the url of your post about it into the second box.

I'll be pinning your links to this Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.

I hope you discover some great books to read – I always do!

  6. I'm happy to participate in "Books You Loved" again this month. I've linked to three books I loved in August, one of them a reread from many years ago. Happy reading to all.

  7. Thanks for mentioning my review of Stoner Carole, I was certain it was going to be my top book for 2015, until I read The Taming of the Queen by Philippa Gregory that is! Great feeling to fall head over heels for a book.

  9. Another tough one but I will go for the newest of the books, "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. A fantastic read and a well-deserved Pulitzer Prize.
