It's the first Wednesday in the month again – how fast
the year is flying by. So, it's Books You Loved time.
Books
You Loved: July resulted in another interesting
collection. Thank you to everyone who
contributed. Some reviews that caught my
eye were:
Tiny
Little Thing by Beatriz Williams was brought over by
Elizabeth of Silver's
Reviews and Katherine of Story
Matters.
Katherine said 'It
may say tiny in the title, but there’s nothing
small about this book. Quite to the contrary, it’s bursting with big
personalities, big secrets, big twists, and one big, fat, whopper of
an ending.' Elizabeth
said 'TINY LITTLE THING is a great summer read with an ending that is oh so
good. '
YA Romantics brought
us Emmy
& Oliver by Robin Benway. The review said 'Emmy & Oliver has a simple
premise: Emmy and Oliver are best friends. When Oliver is seven, he disappears.
Ten years later, he comes back. That's it.
But with that simple premise, Benway is able to explore a multitude of
issues and themes and do so in a way that was moving, funny, and memorable. '
And for some light relief, Elizabeth of Books I Think
You Should Read posted about Meg Cabot's Royal
Wedding. She recommended this
for all Princess Diaries fans.
And another light read from The Eater of Books – When
a Scot Ties The Knot by Tessa Dare. Alyssa said 'Overall, I loved this book. It's
earning a rare five stars from me, so of course I loved it! It's an all-time
favorite historical romance novel for sure'
For some non-fiction, Captivated Reader linked in her post about The Story of Sushi: An Unlikely Saga of Raw Fish and Rice by Trevor Corson. She says 'I enjoyed Trevor Corson's writing and how he shares information about sushi with the reader... The story of sushi just isn't about the history of sushi in Japan, but also the history of sushi in the United States.'
Now for the new collection. Remember the post doesn't have to be a recent
one and the book doesn't have to have been recently published or read. The
only requirement is that it is about a book that you loved.
To add to the list just pop the name of the book (and
your name/blog name if you like) into the first Mr Linky box and then copy and
paste the url of your post about it into the second box.
I'll be pinning your links to this
Pinboard to make it easier for you to check them out at a glance.
Have fun. I hope
you discover some great books to read – I always do!
Thanks for the shoutout, Carole!

ReplyDeleteAlyssa @ The Eater of Books!
It's been a while since I added a link but keep sending the reminders, I appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteI just posted my best book of the month for August! ;) I have to admit that it was a really slow reading month for me this month, and while none of the books that I read earned an A+! from me, each of them had something about them which I enjoyed. See you next month, Carole! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a tough month to choose my favourite but I would probably go for Interpreter of Maladies.
