Hot Pink Spice Saga is subtitled "An Indian
Culinary Travelogue with Recipes".
And that is quite right – the book is more a hilarious recounting of
Peta Mathias's gastronomad tours of India as photographed by Julie Le Clerc (who
is also an accomplished cookbook writer).
There are recipes too – but only about every 5-10 pages. The photography is lovely.
If you
would like a bit of a laugh while learning more about India and its cuisine I
recommend this book to you.
I scanned
one recipe to give you an idea of what the food is like. Here it is!
I like the decoration of the dish with flowers.
ReplyDeleteI always love the combination of cookbook and travel and photography. I hadn't heard of this book before, so I'm glad you wrote about it.
ReplyDeleteI love these kind of books too, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun book,
