Marmite Pasta

Carole's Chatter: Marmite Pasta

Now this pasta dish is so simple that I'm almost embarrassed to tell you about it.  I got the idea from Nigella.

To make Marmite Pasta you just cook your favourite pasta – I used fettucine nests – in well salted water.

When the pasta is almost ready put 3 tablespoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of marmite (which is a yeast extract) plus a splash of the pasta cooking water into a little saucepan and heat it up to make your pasta sauce.

Serve your marmite pasta with some grated parmesan on top.  And that's it.  It had a lovely but not overpowering flavour.  Next time I'll use a bit more marmite.

  2. I don't think this could be any easier! Great dish for summer when it's too hot to cook here. Thanks for sharing, Carole!
