I cannot
recall for the life of me where I got this idea from. Mental note to self – keep better
records. But it was simple to do and
made a nice lunch. I think it would be
appealing to kids too.
All you do
is cut squares of 2 different coloured cheeses.
Originally I was aiming to have an orange coloured one and a yellow one
but the only darker one I could find in the supermarket was a smoked cheddar.
Because I
made a pattern with 9 squares of cheese on each piece of bread I called this
dish Tic Tac Toe Toasties. But you could
make any sort of pattern you liked.
Not only
did these turn out to be nice looking, they ate well too! And were fun to do. As you can see I also did a couple of other
toasties with grated cheese, tomato and chilli.
Maybe not as pretty but still tasty.
Those are adorable! I think my 5 year old would get a big kick out of them but they do look so simple to do he could probably even help me with them!
ReplyDeleteThose ARE adorable! Reminds me of all the (far less adorable) cheese toasties we ate when we were students. And, wouldn't you know, it's perfect weather to make some tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteLooks so appealing! Simple and delicious! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery cute idea - I love it. Especially love that you used smoked cheese, which I adore.
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Love the idea -- so simple.
ReplyDeleteFun!!! I do think my girls would get a kick out of this. I especially like the idea for little mini pizza type toasties.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea -- and I love the name tic tac toasties! :)
